The water used for irrigation was in danger of running out. The irrigation water comes from the snow mountain scheme ( and other places ). And that water was in short supply. 3. I'm currently in the UK, and the extent of the drought has been reported here and in the US. Saying that food production is stunted in 2007 due to lack of water. I've got a pretty good idea what I'm talking about because I have family members who are irrigators, and I worked for what was called the Dept of Land and Water Conservation for a time.
